Midsize jets sit in the middle of the business-jet classes: more cabin room and range than light jets, typically seating 7–9 passengers, and suited to longer domestic and cross-continent trips. They offer a step up in space and reach without moving to the largest, long-range class.
Is a midsize jet right for you?
A midsize jet usually fits if:
- Your typical trips are longer than regional hops, but not regularly intercontinental.
- You travel with a larger group than a light jet comfortably carries, or want more cabin space for working and resting.
- You want more range and cabin room than a light jet, without the operating scale of a long-range jet.
What to consider before buying
- Stand-up cabin variants. Cabin height varies across midsize models — check whether you can stand and move comfortably in the cabin, and how the seating and baggage layout suit the way you travel.
- Range with your real payload. As with any class, range falls as passengers and baggage are added. Judge an aircraft against your typical load and your longest regular route, not a best-case figure.
- Maintenance status and logbooks. For any specific aircraft, maintenance programme status and complete logbooks matter more than the model name. Verify them during a pre-purchase inspection, before purchase.
